Many moons ago I had a dream of being a writer and documenting all the funny stories and situations I have gotten myself into or have heard about. As life sometimes does, I kept putting the storytelling off and have ended up at 43 yrs young and it is about time I started sharing.
For those of you who know me, it is no surprise that I am writing down some of the craziness that I have gotten into and yes, I will be discreet. In my youth I would write in a journal almost every day and as I entered my 20's and 30's, I had so many great experiences, but somehow stopped writing them down. As I look back on why I may have done this, I can only say that I did not understand what value I as an individual could make.
I have never been a self proclaimed "guru" or someone I even considered worthy of your attention or notice, but I have learned that is not necessarily true. That all the good, the bad and the ugly stories may in fact entertain or help someone else.
My friends would tell you that I am funny, kind and caring. And I do not disagree with that, but I am so much more than that. There are things I haven't shared because of shame, or anger or embarrassment. I think a great deal of us are like this. We entertain or show the world one view, when in fact there is so much more to us.
In this blog I would like to share the happy and the sad. The truth and some of the lies we tell ourselves or that society tells us. I want to be someone who at the end of the day can be seen as your friend, a resource and worthy of the time you take to read my thoughts.
I truly believe that each and everyone of us are important and have an opportunity to change a life, even if it's just a laugh or a kind word to someone you pass on the street. I try to embody this idea, but do not imagine myself perfect at it either.
I am just me - a daughter, a friend, a puppy mommy, a writer, a goofball, lover of music, movies, a great book, a kind word and someone who cares. If I could tell the world something today it would be that you matter. YOU MATTER TO ME.
So for today, know that someone is thinking of you and wishing you a great day, full of moments of joy to go along with any of that sorrow you may be feeling.
Much Love,
Jenny
